I have no thought what took me so long to start cooking with a slow cooker – but there is no stopping me now! The ease of this product is a thing of beauty. Get your ingredients in the pot, snap the lock on the two handles, set the time (simple to choose) and select high or low and you are off! The “keep warm” function is brilliant for those dishes you set to cook over night. I have saved a small fortune on meat since I got this Slow Cooker. All those pieces of ice encrusted steaks in the fridge have received a new lease on life as pepper steaks and stews. The meat is so incredibly tender when cooked this way. The price on this Hamilton Beach could not be better. Why spend over $100 when you have brilliant quality in this product? Clean-up is also a breeze, and the lift-out pot is fantastic for taking a nice dinner to a friend’s house. Don’t reckon twice – just buy it!!!

If your looking for a large ,well made, slow cooker, this is the one. I highly recomend this model, it works fantastic. It has manual, programmable,& probe setting which I like. Consumer report recommends this model also! I BOUGHT MINE ON AMAZON.
My personal chef likes it!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I’m nearly fifty years ancient and spent ten years in the military travelling the world. Without bias, my wife is the finest cook I have ever come across in my life. She’ll throw things together off the top of her head that are as excellent or better than anything I’ve ever head in any restaurant anywhere in the world. I got her one of these for Christmas and she absolutely likes it. Like other reviewers, her favorite features are the clamp-down lid and the “keep warm” feature. She also likes the programmability and the overall ease of use. She’s already made a couple of knock-you-flat tasty meals with it. Highly recommended.
Shuts down when whenever it wants to.

If you are like most people and expect to have your new items work ALL the time then the Hamilton Beach 33967 slow cooker IS NOT for you. This slow cooker has a tendency to shut completely off on a 8 hour setting. It is supposed to goto a warm setting after the desired cook time. Many of the reviewers of this slow cooker seemed to accept that it stops running occasionally. I am pretty shocked that it has such fantastic reviews. I surly intend on returning this product after less than 6 months of use.
Lousy customer service
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
The unit was fantastic for about a year. At Christmas, cooking some meatballs and sauce and when I removed the insert, sauce had leaked through. Examined the insert and there was a hairline crack. Called customer service and they do not warranty this part. They would gladly send me a new one for $40 plus shipping. Doing this and I would be spending more than a new unit. Fantastic!
the lid
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I too had dial setting crock pots over the years. My last one operated fine, but moisture would pool around the lid and then bubble a mess all over the countertop, which had to be cleaned up – I was glad to donate it. I don’t travel with the crock pot, but I really like the gasket lid, it makes a nice tight seal and after a year of using it, I can say it has never bubbled or spewed a mess of any kind. I recently tried the slow cooker bags and find they make clean up a breeze. The stay warm feature is fantastic, allowing everyone to eat on their own schedule. I recently gave this as a gift + cookbook + bags to a new mom of twins with a couple of older kids. She and her husband thought it was a wonderful gift, they were using it nearly daily to prepare their evening meal. The larger capacity has worked out fantastic for us, but I can see how it might be too large for a household of 1 or 2 people. I haven’t used the probe, but a beef roast or pork loin cooked on high for 4 hours comes out falling apart – perfect. If mine needed to be replaced today, I’d buy it again.
Really Pleased

We received a gift card from relatives for the holidays because we’ve been wanting a slow cooker forever. I researched on Consumer Reports, some of the cooking sites, and Amazon and chose (also based on customer reviews) that based on all of the recommendations about the best features, the features to avoid, the issues people of had with other slow cookers, that this was the one to get. We’ve never owned a slow cooker before but after receiving it (they packed it so it arrived in brilliant condition), we washed it, read the instruction booklet, found a fantastic recipe for chili online, and made our first slow cooker meal at home. Not only was it simple, economical, and really tasty, I loved the smell in the house while the chili cooked. It made an brilliant chili (and we’ve since cooked other meals in it). We were a tad concerned with getting such a large slow cooker since we are a family of two, but it’s not an issue. If we don’t choose to eat seconds, we simply pack up leftovers for the fridge and have them for lunch or dinner the next day. We look forward to using it for get-togethers and know its size will be handy, then. The instructions that come with it allow for users to infer, from them, how to cook different dishes (i.e. how to determine heating setting, time settings, manual or auto cook, etc. for anything you find a recipe for). My husband is a tough judge of appliances and he and I both really like this slow cooker. We’re glad that we got it.
Lots of Bells & Whistles

Got this for my wife since she was asking for a 6 qt. slow cooker. I fully expected her to keep using our 7+ year ancient 4 qt. Crock Pot for everyday use. Nope! The Hamilton Beach has been in service full time & the 4 qt. Crock Pot has been collecting dust. After about one month of use, here’s what we have found:
Pros:
– large capacity easily fits turkey carcass or mid-sized chicken
– 3 heat settings; WARM setting is fantastic for just that & not overcooking
– probe seems to be honestly accurate but only used once
– side handles on base
– plastic handle on lid
Cons:
– outside gets hot on the HIGH heat setting
– handles on the ceramic pot are small
– metallic exterior end smudges easily
Would have given it 5 stars if it didn’t get so hot on the outside. Overall, well made product that’s worth every penny.
A Must Buy

I bought this slow cooker elsewhere, at a really fantastic deal (mispriced by the retailer) of $26.00. You know what they say about too excellent to be right right? I had the slow cooker for nearly 18 months, a few times the cooker appeared to have shut itself off. I couldn’t be sure that the power hadn’t just flickered- causing it to turn off, and always caught it before the food had an opportunity to get cold or spoil. Like other reviewers here, I thought that it was just a fluke, and continued to use it other times with much success. This morning I place a roast on to cook. I came home for lunch and the program had 2 1/2 hrs left to cook, after which it would automatically switch to the warm feature for up to 4hrs. Imagine my surprise when I got home 4 1/2 hrs later and it was just completely shut off. I have messed with this slow cooker for the last time. I can’t risk poisoning my family with under-cooked food and groceries are too expensive to just waste this way. Hamilton Beach- you are a excellent company with a reputable history. I would suggest looking into the malfunction in this product before you lose the following that you have worked so hard to build up. While I won’t boycott the company altogether, I will be purchasing a Rival Crock-Pot to replace this one.
Well worth the money and a fantastic piece of equipment!

I had an ANCIENT crcokpot that I had gotten probably 10-15 yrs ago with the low/high setting. It worked well and I did like it. My only issue was I wanted something that I could program and really control the temperature more. This one fit the bill perfectly.
I hunted around, and based on reviews and the description in general, this was the best one. I don’t really see any of the issues some others had. I did notice that the low setting was pretty hot, but it stands to reason that if something is on simmer or warm on the stove it’s going to bubble after a time; this item is no differnet. I also LIKE the warm-setting! That probably is the RIGHT low setting. But, either way, it’s a fantastic item and I have used it at least 2-3 times a week since I got it. Even bought one for my mom for Christmas. It would make a fantastic wedding present, bday gift, housewarming gift, etc…
The meat probe and timing feature are truly wonderful. It’s nice to know I can place something in the pot before work and come home to have a nice, homemade, hot meal. The ‘keep warm’ feature is fantastic! No reheating!
If you are looking for a classy looking piece of functional equipement; something that has a meat-probe, timer, a inner pot that is removeable, a clear see through lid; even comes with a spoon, this IS the item for you!
Pleased cooking!! =0)

I absolutely like this slow cooker. I have owned several and this is by far the best. I like the fact that you can seal the lid and travel. It was fantastic for the holidays. This is the gift I will be buying for future wedding showers. I would recommend this to everyone.
Amazon Wish List shenanigans
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I have no problem with this product in so far as it appears to be A fine product based on what I have read in reviews here and consumer reports. My complaint is about the fact that I placed this item in my wish list one day and the next day it is showing me a price ten dollars higher! I would classify this as an Amazon “Cyber” bait and switch……
Near perfect slow cooker, highly recommended!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This crock pot lives up to all the other rave reviews. A lot of thought has gone into the design and it’s very well made.
Highlights:
1. Has a programmable mode that you can set a specific amount of cooking time on either high or low.
2. The pot and lid are dishwasher safe
3. Has a “temperature probe” that you stick into the meat and the crock pot will cook for along as it takes to get to a temperature that you pre-program.
4. Has a “locking” feature that clamps the lid down to the unit making it simple to take the unit with you if you are going to a neighbors for dinner and want to avoid chances of the lid falling off. (This isn’t useful for me, but I can see it being useful for others)
Lowlights:
1. The lid’s rubber seal isn’t removable, so cleaning is more hard
2. Even though there is a programmable mode, there isn’t a way to have a combination of High and Low settings. Some recipes call for a certain amount of time on High, followed by another longer period of time on low heat. With this unit, you can only do 1 temperature or the other.
Despite these 2 limitations, this crock pot is a steal at $50!
Roomy and Intuitive Slow Cooker
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This crock pot is VERY simple to use and much more roomier than any other pot I’ve had in the past. At first, I thought the digital options were a small overboard, but now I prefer them over my other ‘dial’ crock pot. I especially like the temperature gauge so I don’t overcook my meats. An extra plus for this crock pot is how well it travels. The locked lid keeps food from spilling all over the car. A must have for anyone who likes to cook in slow cookers, or is looking to start!
Brilliant Crock Pot!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I received this crock pot for Christmas and like it! I am gone from the house for 11 hours a day for work and am able to come home to a hot meal, ready to eat. I would highly recommend this crock pot for anyone who is super busy.
Superb Shipping Time

I Just got this but i ordered it about 22 hours ago. ive never had something been delivered so quick! the reason why im so excited is because i chose the free shipping option, which states that shipping is about 5-9 days.
Brilliant product
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
The temperature probe and locking handles are really fantastic, but what I like most about this slow cooker are the vent holes at the top! My ancient crock pot didn’t have them, so steam would escape and accumulate as water at the top, sometimes boiling over a bit onto my table. (Maybe that’s also because my last pot was smaller and I filled it a bit too ful:-) ) This is a excellent size, and it’s easily programmable.
random shut downs make it unreliable
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
This slow cooker is fantastic when it works. The problem I have with it is that occasionally it will randomly shut down. It’s certainly not an outlet problem as I have it plugged in the same power bar as my computer and my computer is always on. One of the reasons I got this slow cooker was so I can load it up with food, set the timer, and leave home. It’s really a let down when you come back home and find the food half cooked and the machine completely turned off. Thankfully this does not happen all of the time.
Got to have

This is my first crockpot. I researched alot before purchasing. I read how this is top ten crockpots. I bought and within days I received. I cooked my fiance his bday dinner in it as soon as I got it and it was fabulous. Simple to use and simpler to clean. I am now a crockpot cooker! All this time I didn’t know what I was missing. Like this item.

The Hamilton Beach Set ‘n Forget 6 Quart Programmable Slow Cooker is wonderful! I have used ancient crock pots for years but wanted one that kept food warm without overcooking my food. This slow cooker is that and so much more! I have used the probe for a whole chicken and I place the probe into the deep thigh and cooked it to 180 degrees. I seasoned the chicken with some paprika and a small pepper all over and let it cook. The probe setting will cook it to your desired temp. and then switch over to warm, so it won’t overcook. I got the most tasty, moist chicken I have ever tasted and my family loved it! The meat was off the bone, mouth-watering excellent.
I have cooked 1 lb of pinto beans in it. I soaked the beans overnight in a large bowl of water, drained the water into the sink and place the beans in the cooker. I then added fresh water to about 3/4 of the way up to the top, added two pieces of turkey bacon, (pork bacon if you use that), about a tablespoon of red chili powder and dashes of salt and pepper to taste and let them cook of high for 10 hours. I live at high altitude so lower altitudes need less cooking time for beans, but anyway, the beans were fabulous.
I also have cooked stew so many times and my family keeps wanting more of it. I just dump about a lb. of stew meat into the cooker, add water, again about 3/4 the way up and add a sliced up large onion, a small bag of baby carrots, (not cut up), about four large celery stalks, sliced into about 1/2 to 1 inch pieces, add about a half cup of ketchup, more if you like the tomato taste. I peel 4 medium to 5 medium size potatoes and then cut them into about one and a half inch cubes, not too small or they will cook too much and dissolve, or too huge as they won’t be cooked, but roughly one and one half inch cubes. It doesn’t have to be precise, just use the rule: Too small-mush, too huge-raw. Dump the potatoes into the cooker and add salt and pepper to taste. Everyone has different tastes on that so just use more if you like it, less if you don’t. Cook on low for 8 hours. I just leave it alone and come back at the end of the 8 hours and it so excellent! We like the juice, to break up crackers in it. So simple! I like this thing!
I like that you can seal the pot up for travel and not worry about it spilling over. I like the digital feature but it took me awhile to push the right buttons. It wants it done a certain way or you’ve got to start over. I do make sure it is cooking right before I go, as I have read some reviews about it not being turned on when they come home, so I make sure it is on and cooking before I leave. I like that it will keep your food warm and not overcook it. It won’t let your food get cold either, so that is a huge benefit for me. I do know people’s gripe about the handles having the the metal holders (that seal the lid) get in the way. I have learned to deal with it and it isn’t a bother anymore. I am just glad it has handles so I don’t have to touch a hot pot and the lid has a handle which I can pick up and it not burn me. A huge plus from those ancient pots.
It is very simple to clean and I reckon the cooker is so nice looking, I just keep it out on my counter. It is silver and black and looks fantastic. It isn’t one of those things you have to be ashamed of owning but you will want to show it off! The silver does show prints sometimes but are pretty simple to keep wiped off.
I do wish it had a larger probe. It isn’t huge enough to reach down to any small pieces of meat like a chicken breast, through the hole in the lid, so I place the probe into the meat via under the lid. It works for me, but I don’t know if you can do this or not, since the directions are so brief. I just know I do it and it works, but a longer probe would be a wonderful thing. In all, one fantastic cooker!
One fantastic cooker

We have used it about 5 times now. It cooks perfectly. Set the time and when it is finished it automatically goes to “Warm” until you are ready to eat. The price is much better than the same model at Target.
LIKE IT
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I only used it once so far for beef stew & it worked fantastic. Like all the features, especially the meat thermometer. It cleans-up well & looks fantastic! Will be using it tomorrow for a roast. Highly recommend it to anyone who prefers to spend less time in the kitchen cooking.
Every feature you might want
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I researched this slow cooker carefully and made the right choice. I have used the manual, timed, and probe features and each has worked perfectly. AND, the auto warm feature is wonderful when you do not get home when expected. Simple to clean and use, and the food has tasted fantastic. What more can you want. The Hamilton Beach online site has recipes in many categories and I have tried a few with excellent results. Yes, this is larger than some cookers, but it holds a lot of food and I have no problem storing this cooker when I am finished.
slow cooker crockpot
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I can’t cook a lick, and I’ve been able to make some mean and healthy stews lately.
The warming feature allows you to return home from work at your convenience without the meal cooling off.
Only one minor issue is that the pot is hard to remove because of the containment clamps.
Otherwise, brilliant.
Worthless
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
My unit does not have the locking lid nor spoon holder even though they are described in the manual. I wanted to make hot apple cider but after 1 1/2 hours the cider wasn’t even at 100 degrees and there was a foul burnt plastic odor. I see why they call these slow cookers. Who needs it? Thanks for wasting my time Hamilton Beach. Never again.
fantastic cooker for the money and SAVES money
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
every electonic gadget are going to have its flaws. Nothing out there is perfect.
But, few CAN come pretty close to being perfect.
This slow cooker would be one of them. The price is right, the features are fantastic, and it’s the small things that makes it even better, such as the lid-locking handles.
I can nitpick a bit and go into some minor stuff. But then again, I can do that with just about anything.
I would highly recommend this cooker. It works fantastic, it cooks fantastic, and after one sits down and sees his/her family eating the tasty stew or soup that had been prepared in this cooker, with that huge smile of satisfaction on their faces and the contentment in their eyes and feel that like that was poured into the cooker (although it really is a lot simpler for the cook, but the quality of like remains the same)while the “mmmmm, mmmmmmm….” abound…
all the minor inperfections of the cooker get defenestrated while the like fills the dining room…
Power interruption protection is the point!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Questions have been raised by reviewers about what happens after a power failure with this product.
It SHOULD have power interruption protection (see name of product), meaning it will reset itself to the last setting if the power is interrupted and then restored. If you left home with your meal programmed to complete by your return, and meantime the power flickered off briefly, you shouldn’t have to face rotted uncooked food when you return, as would be the case with most other slow cookers that usually don’t reset.
If it doesn’t have power interruption protection, it’s a rip-off — the virtually identical product without power protection Hamilton Beach 33162H Stay Or Go 6 Quart Slow Cook is available for about half the price. Go with the cheaper one if you don’t need resets after power failures or if this product really lacks that feature despite containing it in its name. I have had the cheaper one for 2 1/2 years, absolutely like it, and am thinking of adding this one here so that we’ll have 2 for parties and one reliable enough never to fail to cook just because the power goes out briefly. Look at the pictures — the two look exactly the same, even though this one isn’t officially called “Stay or Go” — this one still has the lid clips, slot on the lid for the identical provided spoon, flared sturdy pot lids for simple carrying, etc.
P.S. Walmart sells a slow cooker transport bag, made officially for Rival cookers, that fits this unit perfectly!!
